Welcome to our Year 11 and 12 Mathematics Tutoring Program, which covers four different levels;
In our Mathematics Standard program, students use mathematical concepts to make informed decisions in their daily lives. By engaging with real-world applications, they develop a strong understanding and competence in mathematics, which can be applied across various HSC subjects.
This course enhances numeracy by building student confidence and making mathematics meaningful. Students will gain skills to manage everyday situations and solve problems in daily life, work, or further education.
In Stage 6, Mathematics Standard 1 helps students:
The Year 11 Mathematics Standard 1 course covers four main topics, each divided into subtopics:
The Year 12 Mathematics Standard 1 course builds on the same four topics and introduces an additional topic, ‘Networks’. The topics and subtopics are:
The Mathematics Advanced course is a calculus-based program designed to help students view the world through a mathematical lens, investigating patterns, relationships, and uncertainties. This course encourages students to explore problems through observation, reflection, and reasoning.
Students in the Mathematics Advanced course will sit for an HSC examination. The Mathematics Extension 1 course includes all content from the Mathematics Advanced course for both Year 11 and Year 12.
In Stage 6, the Mathematics Advanced course enables students to:
The Year 11 Mathematics Advanced course covers five main topics, each divided into subtopics:
The Year 12 Mathematics Advanced course includes four of the same topics, with an additional topic in Financial Mathematics replacing Exponential and Logarithmic Functions:
Our Mathematics Extension 1 course is designed to help students develop a deep understanding and advanced skills in mathematics. This course emphasizes rigorous mathematical arguments, proofs, and extensive use of mathematical models.
The Year 11 Mathematics Extension 1 course includes all content from the Year 11 Mathematics Advanced course. Similarly, the Year 12 Mathematics Extension 1 course encompasses all content from the Year 12 Mathematics Advanced course. Students in this course will sit for an HSC examination.
For those progressing to Mathematics Extension 2 in Year 12, this course includes all content from Mathematics Extension 1 and Mathematics Advanced.
In Stage 6, the Mathematics Extension 1 course helps students:
The Year 11 Mathematics Extension 1 course covers four main topics, each divided into subtopics:
The Year 12 Mathematics Extension 1 course continues with topics from Year 11 and introduces new topics:
The Mathematics Extension 2 course offers students the chance to develop advanced mathematical skills and a deep understanding of algebra and calculus. This course emphasizes the intrinsic value of mathematics, encouraging invention, intuition, and exploration. Students will expand their conceptual knowledge and explore new areas of mathematics not previously covered.
The Year 12 Mathematics Extension 2 course includes all content from the Year 12 Mathematics Extension 1 and Mathematics Advanced courses. Together, these courses form a comprehensive continuum in Stage 6 mathematics.
Students enrolled in Mathematics Extension 2 will sit for the HSC examination.
In Stage 6, the Mathematics Extension 2 course helps students:
The Year 12 Mathematics Extension 2 course covers five main topics, each divided into subtopics:
Upon completing their Mathematics learning program with us, students preparing for their HSC would have acquired in-depth understanding across all four stages of mathematics in both Year 11 and Year 12.
Throughout the course of their learning students will have access to a variety of resources and tools that will aid them in their understanding of these complex mathematical concepts. We offer interactive lessons that engage students through virtual manipulatives and visual aids to reinforce key mathematical principles.
