Program Overview:

Our Holiday Learning Program is designed to give students a structured, fun, and educational experience during the school break. We focus on building confidence, refreshing core academic skills, and developing new abilities in a supportive environment. Every activity is led by qualified tutors and experienced educators to ensure every child receives proper attention.

The program integrates literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking while weaving in creative projects and collaborative tasks to keep students engaged.

1. Reading Enrichment

Objective: Improve fluency, decoding, comprehension, and reading confidence.

• Travel through exciting stories, magical lands, and real-world wonders
• Explore novels, comics, poems, articles, and plays
• Fun group read-aloud with silly voices and dramatic flair
• Play “Vocab Explosion”—synonyms, antonyms, and word-building games
• Unlock mysteries: Predict what happens next or debate a character’s choices

Outcome: Build confidence, improve fluency, and discover a love of reading!

2. Comprehension Quest – ‘Be a Text Detective’

Objective: Teach children how to interact deeply with a text and extract meaning.

• Crack comprehension puzzles, solve riddles, and uncover hidden meanings
• Create storyboards or comic strips from what we’ve read
• Compete in “Find the Main Idea” races
• Explore author secrets—why did they write it that way?
• NAPLAN-style games (optional) to practice under time

Outcome: Sharpen comprehension skills while having a blast solving text mysteries!

3. Creative Writing & Grammar – ‘Writers’ Clubhouse

Objective: Build imaginative, structured, and technically strong writers.

• Spin wild tales, create wacky characters, or write a superhero diary
• Grammar games like “Punctuation Police” and “Adjective Olympics”
• Poetry slams, persuasive speeches, or story-crafting competitions
• Redraft and illustrate your own book cover
• Peer reviews — learn to give and receive positive feedback like a pro

Outcome: Build storytelling skills, imagination, and writing confidence!

4. Maths Mania – ‘Real-Life Maths Missions’

Objective: Strengthen key maths concepts and build confidence in applying them practically.

• Maths treasure hunts, shopping challenges, and race-to-solve games
• Pizza fractions, slime measurement experiments, and data graphing fun
• Brain-boosting maths sprints and mental maths battles
• Work with play money, maps, and real-world scenarios

Outcome: See maths in action and walk away with stronger number sense!

5. Critical Thinking & General Knowledge – ‘Brain Gym & World Explorers’

Objective: Enhance reasoning skills, creative problem-solving, and general knowledge.

• Build escape rooms and solve them as a team
• Daily debates: “Would you rather live in space or under the sea?”
• General knowledge trivia battles (prizes up for grabs!)
• Public speaking games: ‘Talk for a Minute’ or ‘Persuade Me’ challenges
• Stretch those brains with riddles, logic puzzles, and creative problem-solving

Outcome: Boost confidence, critical thinking, and world knowledge!

Add variety and fun while still learning:

• Art & Craft Station: Create a storybook cover, design a character, or craft poetry art.
• Science Discovery Afternoon: Mini-experiments, fun with physics, slime-making.
• Lego STEM Challenges: Build bridges, towers, and simple machines.
• Spelling Bee Competitions: Daily vocabulary challenges.
• NAPLAN Booster Sessions (Years 3 & 5): Targeted support for upcoming NAPLAN tests.
